Hello again, please see below our latest communication update.

As you will have seen, we have started the refurbishment of the Club, both externally and internally. We apologise for the upheaval of working around the scaffolding and painters, however it will be worth it.

Painting Refurbishment

  • The external works are due to be completed by June 28th.
  • The scaffolding will be removed and cleared week commencing July 1st.
  • Our new signage will be installed on July 4th & 5th.
  • The internal painting will also be completed by June 28th.

Gym Floor and Spin bikes

  • We are delighted to announce that the new Gym equipment has been ordered with Life Fitness and it’s scheduled to arrive for installation on the week commencing September 23rd. This will be a full gym floor trade-out.
  • We will soon be in a position to deliver Hyrox.
  • As part of the new gym equipment arriving, we have also ordered 25 best-in-class Spin bikes, the IC 7’s by Life Fitness.

Club Opening Hours

We have tweaked the opening times due to demand and swipe visit data. These will commence from June 24th.

  • Monday to Thursday – 6.00am – 10.00pm
  • Friday – 6.00am – 9.00pm
  • Weekends – 8.00am – 6.00pm

Studio Class Bookings

  • Our online booking App will not be ready for June 17th which would have allowed you to book classes for June 24th. We are hoping to have the Fit Sense studio booking app very soon and will communicate as and when it’s ready. 

Direct Debit

  • Due to some hold-ups with the transfer from Nuffield to fab, Nuffield will now take your Direct Debit on July 1st.
  • fab will therefore be in a position to take the next Direct Debit on August 1st.

What’s Next?

  • We plan to alter the layout of the Spin studio and we intend to improve the class experience. The alterations will enable us to have 24 bikes, plus the instructor bike. We may encounter over a two/three-day period some disruption which may affect the timetable during this period.
  • We are considering a couple of new studio options which would allow us to introduce Reformer bed Pilates and specialist Yoga classes. We will keep you posted on these thoughts.

Dear Member

Welcome to fab Health & Fitness Clubs, we are very excited to serve and deliver all your health, fitness and wellbeing needs.

We have ambitious plans to grow our estate, the Barrow-in-Furness club will be our first and will always be our flagship. Therefore I’m delighted to inform you that we have big plans to invest in your club.

We will communicate with you again very shortly but for now, be assured that your membership experience is only going to improve once we get started. We are currently building our website, preparing to take over and planning our investment programme. For now, please be confident that it’s very much business as usual, we will be operating very similar to Nuffield but with many additional surprises.

If you have any further questions please see Mel and the team, however, I will be on-site regularly to speak or answer any questions.

We at fab Health & Fitness Clubs are thrilled and excited to be taking the Barrow club and will keep you updated constantly throughout this transition.
